Transport and Technical Services, in association with Jersey Airport, has arranged for a shuttle coach service to operate to and from the Airport on Friday 8 June when the buses are not operating due to industrial action.
The service will run from the Broad Street bus stop (outside the Post Office) from 6am and at an anticipated frequency of every half hour thereafter until the last service at 9pm. The shuttle will depart from the Airport at 6.30am and will run until the last service at 9.30pm. It will be a direct service in both directions making no stops along the way and will be provided free of charge.
Chief Officer of Transport and Technical Services John Rogers said “Unfortunately it is not possible to arrange alternative transport for all bus users affected by the strike on Friday 8 June, but we have managed to source a couple of coaches from local company Signature and have arranged this shuttle coach service to try to help people travelling to and from the Island."
Following on from Connex Transport Jersey Ltd’s weekend announcement that they are unable to operate the public bus service on Friday 8 June, it is understood that further industrial action could take place on Thursday 14 June and Monday 25 June.
