Investigations are underway into the cause of a furze fire at the weekend. Firefighters were called to a headland near Le Pulec Bay, just below the cliffs at Les Landes, just after 10.30pm on Saturday evening.
The terrain, strong winds and night conditions made the fire difficult to tackle and there were concerns that it could spread over the headland.
15 firefighters brought the blaze under control within an hour, while the Honoray Police closed roads and prevented public access to the area.
Firefighters are asking Islanders to take care during the summer, when the risk of a fire starting is at its highest.
