Annual social survey 2012 published

05 December 2012

The Jersey Annual Social Survey (JASS) collects and analyses detailed information on a wide range of social issues on an annual basis. It provides official social statistics about Jersey, allowing everyone in the Island to have a better understanding of social issues and for policy to be made from a more informed standpoint.

The Statistics Unit runs the survey, and produces and publishes the results independently, with the included topic areas being requested by individual departments. The survey has a set of core questions covering key characteristics of the population, along with questions on a range of different issues.

Some of the topics covered in the latest edition include:

  • priorities for government
  • Jèrriais
  • information sources (internet, social networking, local news)
  • housing standards
  • discrimination
  • health
  • crime
  • travel and transport
  • public services
