24 September 2012
From Tuesday 9 October 2012, Transport and Technical Services will be carrying out infrastructure maintenance works on Beaumont Hill, including:
- installation of new vehicle safety barriers
- high friction surfacing
- road drainage improvements
Beaumont Hill is one of the Island’s busiest roads, so, to minimise disruption, the work has been programmed for the winter months and will be carried out between the morning and evening rush hours on weekdays only. There will be no works during the Christmas week.
Road closure times and dates
Starting on Tuesday 9 October, Beaumont Hill will be closed to southbound traffic from 9am to 4.30pm weekdays, and Mont Fallu (hill only) will be closed to westbound traffic from 9am to 4.30pm weekdays.
Major stakeholders have been consulted with respect to the works, including the emergency services. Businesses will remain open as usual.
Online updates
A webpage informing members of the public about the project is currently being developed and will be available from the start of the works.
Although Transport and Technical Services will be doing their utmost to minimise disruption, these essential infrastructure maintenance works will cause some delays to motorists and disturbance to householders. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
