This week, Transport and Technical Services (TTS) is installing new and replacement playground equipment in the adventure play area at Coronation Park (Millbrook Park).
The main multiplay unit is over 30 years old and as more and more repairs were being required to keep it going, TTS has decided to replace it with a new and multiplay unit. A new exciting addition to the playground is a zip wire, which is expected to prove very popular. There will also be other new items such as swings and a seesaw.
The play area in the park is extremely well used and popular. In order to ensure there is still equipment available for children to play on, the installation is being programmed 1 piece of equipment at a time and the rest of the play area will remain open. The work is expecting to take 3 weeks to complete.
Deputy Kevin Lewis, Minister for TTS said “Our formal parks are true assets to Jersey and the children’s play area in Coronation Park is one of its key features, with children coming from all over the Island to enjoy it. I expect this new and replacement play equipment to give children a lot of enjoyment in the coming years.”
