The United Arab Emirates’ Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Mr Abdulrahman Ghanem Almutaiwee, will visit Jersey on 28 and 29 November 2012.
During his visit, the Ambassador will meet the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst; the Lieutenant-Governor, His Excellency General Sir John McColl; and the Bailiff, Sir Michael Birt.
The Ambassador will stay as a guest at Government House, and will also meet the Assistant Chief Minister, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, and the Treasury Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf. Among the Ambassador’s engagements will be a dinner hosted by the Bailiff, a business lunch with the Chief Minister, States Members and representatives of the finance industry, and visits to Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and the Jersey Museum.
Senator Gorst commented “Jersey enjoys strong links with the UAE and it is a pleasure to be welcoming the Emirati Ambassador to the Island. Following on from very successful visits to the Emirates by Senators Bailhache and Ozouf earlier this year, there will be much to discuss as we continue to broaden and develop our ties with Abu Dhabi and Dubai.”
