Firefighters tackle vehicle fires

Reacting to a call from a member of the public, the fire service sent a fire engine with a crew of 5 officers to tackle a 2-vehicle fire in the car park of Grainville football ground.

Wearing breathing apparatus and using 2 high pressure hoses, they put out the fire, which was confined to 2 parked vehicles. One of the vehicles, a van containing painting and decorating materials, caused some minor explosions. Fuel leaks were also reported.
