The Indonesian Minister for Law and Human Rights, Dr Amir Syamsuddin, will visit Jersey on 29 July 2013.
Dr Syamsuddin will meet the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Assistant Chief Minister, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, as well as the Treasury Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf, and the Economic Development Minister, Senator Alan Maclean.
Senator Gorst said “I look forward to welcoming Dr Syamsuddin to Jersey. Indonesia is a G20 member state and this visit will be an opportunity for our governments to further develop our cultural, political and economic relations.”
The next meeting of the OECD’s Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, of which Jersey is a Peer Review Group Vice-Chair, will be held in Jakarta in November this year. Dr Syamsuddin will also meet representatives of the Jersey Financial Services Commission and Jersey Finance.
Dr Syamsuddin will also visit Government House and the Durrell Wildlife Park, where he will be given a presentation on efforts to protect the Sumatran orangutan.
