Traffic heading west will be able to go via Mount Bingham from Thursday 28 November.
Progress on the rock stabilisation works on Mount Bingham means it's now safe to open the westbound carriageway to motorists from 7am on Thursday. The eastbound lane will remain closed until Christmas as work continues.
Drivers going east will be diverted along South Hill which will be open in an eastbound direction and the early morning traffic flow reversal will no longer operate. The temporary parking restrictions along South Hill will also be removed on Thursday.
Traffic restrictions will remain in place along Havre Des Pas due to the JEC works in the area.
Transport and Technical Services would like to thank the contractor, Geomarine Ltd’s Rope Access Team for the rapid rate of progress they have achieved, particularly during the recent period of bad weather, which has allowed a lane to be re-opened.
