The States Employment Board (SEB) has welcomed the announcement from Unite that the current dispute between the union and the SEB has been lifted and no industrial action is now being planned.
A spokesperson said “We are pleased that the dispute has been lifted. It means that good sense and the opportunity to continue working in partnership with Unite continues.”
This announcement follows a mediation meeting between the States of Jersey and Unite representatives hosted by the Jersey Advisory and Conciliation Service last week. No changes have been made to the implemented pay offer.
It was agreed at the meeting that the dispute would be lifted pending the outcome of a joint working party report, which is due for completion in mid-October 2013.
Terms of reference for the report will now be drawn up to establish how both parties will work together to modernise pay, terms and conditions of service. The work will include the development of a new collective bargaining framework, designed to cover all pay groups.
In the meantime, Unite representatives agreed to continue to work in partnership with Employee Relations staff to modernise pay, and terms and conditions of service.
