Applications open for graduates programme

08 November 2013

Applications have opened for Advance Plus’s programme to help unemployed graduates get into work.

The ‘Graduates into Employment’ programme will start on 25 November, giving locally-qualified graduates, who have registered as unemployed, the opportunity to obtain training and valuable work experience. The closing date for applications is 15 November 2013.

Applicants, who can have studied any subject, must be:
  • aged 20 - 65
  • locally qualified
  • registered as unemployed

Successful applicants

Successful applicants have one-to-one mentoring, industry-specific work placements, and training in a diverse range of areas designed to help them succeed in their chosen field. Over the course of the training programme, each graduate trainee spends up to five weeks on a work placement specifically created to showcase their skills and provide a direct route into the workplace.

Advance Plus manager Digby Ellis-Brecknell said “The graduates programme will ensure that candidates gain work-based knowledge and experience that will increase their employability by developing new transferable skills to complement their degree. We are looking forward to working with graduates to help kick-start their careers.”

Advance Plus, one of Back to Work’s employment schemes, runs a number of industry-targeted programmes year-round and has a proven track record of getting individuals into work.
