Contract for aggregate recycling renewed

02 October 2013

A A Langlois Recycling Limited has won the new contract to recycle aggregates obtained through the processing of waste from construction, demolition and excavation.

Following a competitive tendering process by Transport and Technical Services, the company, which is the current service provider, won the new five year contract which runs from July 2014.

The opportunity to tender was advertised locally earlier in the summer and called for operators to show how they would use best practice and innovation to maximise recycling and produce products which meet the local construction industry requirements at a competitive price.

Improved service

Denis Van der Vliet, TTS's manager, contract management and projects, said “We are always trying to improve the services we provide, either directly or through our contractors. This new contract will deliver a better service for the construction industry and reduce waste for Jersey.

"We are keen to continue to improve the overall effectiveness of the aggregate recycling facility at La Collette and to achieve and exceed current performance levels by removing more material from the waste stream and improving overall efficiency."
