The Statistics Unit has today (19 June) released the year-end estimate of Jersey's population for 2012.
At the end of 2012 Jersey's resident population was estimated as 99,000. The latest report shows that during calendar year 2012:
- the resident population increased by 900 people
- net inward migration accounted for 500 of this latest annual increase
- natural growth (the excess of births over deaths) accounted for the remaining 400
