Jersey Fire and Rescue helped an elderly person who was trapped in their burning bedroom this morning.
The residents of the St Peter bungalow rang the emergency services at about 9am this morning (Wednesday 26 February) and three fire engines were mobilised.
One team, wearing breathing apparatus, broke through a glazed door at the back of the home and, with a second team, rescued the casualty from the bedroom. Paramedics took both residents to General Hospital for treatment.
A total of three breathing apparatus teams (six personnel) put out the fire using high pressure hose reels, and the property was cleared of smoke using a specialist ventilation fan.
