Bookings are open for the JobsFest events, which will inspire and motivate hundreds of locally-qualified jobseekers.
A diary of the events taking place during JobsFest (between Monday 6 October and Sunday 30 November) has been sent to everyone who is registered as actively seeking work. Jobseekers are invited to attend as many of the free events as they can, all of which are designed to give them new skills and fresh inspiration.
Networking and workshops
The events run throughout the eight weeks of JobsFest and include:
Networking meetings hosted by local employers with an opportunity to find out about a range of industries
Workshops designed to help jobseekers improve their CVs and interview skills
Confidence-building sessions
Tips on effective job searching
Anyone who is eligible, but not registered as actively seeking work, can register with Back to Work and then book on to JobsFest events. A diary of the events, and information on how to book them is on the JobsFest events for jobseekers page.
Head of Back to Work, Sophie Le Sueur, said “The JobsFest events have been created to help jobseekers gain inspiration and new skills at a time of year when there are fewer job vacancies. Last year, JobsFest events proved so popular that we had to increase the number we organised to almost 100 in order to meet the demand. This year, with at least one event happening every working day, I hope that JobsFest will again inspire and motivate jobseekers who are out of work and act as a springboard into employment.”

JobsFest Employer Incentive
As well as events, the JobsFest Employer Incentive is running throughout the eight weeks. It enables Jersey businesses to employ an eligible jobseeker at no financial cost during JobsFest. Last year 109 new jobs were filled using the JobsFest Employer Incentive, and 67 of those were kept on by their employer after the incentive ended.
