Preparatory work for the construction of the new Police Headquarters will begin at the end of this week.
All car parking spaces on the open ground-floor area of Green Street car park will be permanently closed from 9pm on 17 October 2014. The remaining ground-floor parking spaces will still be available.
The work, which will include extending the third floor of Green Street car park to provide 64 new car parking spaces, will be undertaken by local company Rok-Regal Construction.
Motorists are advised that there is capacity to accommodate the displaced spaces in other town car parks, notably Pier Road.
The 110-week contract is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
