The awards were presented by David Witherington, Chair of the Skills Board, who said “Although apprenticeship schemes had been available in Jersey before, Trackers dared to be distinctly different. One of Trackers’ key innovations has been to match apprentices with a personal mentor; mentoring empowers apprentices to take control of their learning and to achieve their goals; it both fosters independence and ensures that no one is overlooked.”

Trackers Manager, Penny Shurmer, said “We are incredibly proud of all our 128 apprentices, who consistently demonstrate the core values we look for through our recruitment process: commitment, motivation and a positive attitude to both their work and studies.

“Trackers currently have 100% of apprentices in paid employment, which also demonstrates the investment and commitment being made by local employers in the future of Jersey’s workforce."

Applications are invited from individuals looking to enrol with Trackers in summer 2014. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 20 March 2014.
