The Safeguarding Partnership Board is recognising the work of four frontline professionals at a ceremony to be held at St Paul’s Centre today (22 October).
Professionals from a number of agencies were nominated for the awards which are being given in recognition of an outstanding contribution towards Safeguarding in Jersey. The winners are:
- Carly Lucas – Independent Domestic Violence Advisor
- Barbara Czaja – Independent Domestic Violence Advisor
- Mark Wilden – Independent Living Co-ordinator at Andium Homes
- DS Sarah Hamon - MASH (Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub)
Multi-agency working
The awards ceremony will take place at the Safeguarding Partnership Board Development Day, which brings together agencies and individuals responsible for safeguarding adults and children in Jersey. Dr Russell Wate QPM. MSc (Chair of Peterborough Adults’ and Children’s Safeguarding Boards) is the key note speaker for the day and will be talking about effective multi- agency working to safeguard adults and children.
Invaluable contribution
The Independent Chair of the Safeguarding Partnership Board, Glenys Johnston, OBE, said “It is important that we recognise the invaluable contribution all frontline professionals make in safeguarding vulnerable children and adults in Jersey; without their commitment and effort, safeguarding would not be effective.”
The Safeguarding Partnership Board brings together agencies which work to protect children and adults from harm; this may be by ensuring that children grow up with safe and effective care or making sure that adults ‘at risk’ of abuse or neglect are safeguarded.
