The house price report for the third quarter of 2015 has been released by the States Statistics Unit.
Key figures:
- on a rolling four-quarter basis, the mix-adjusted average price of dwellings sold in Jersey during the year ending Q3 2015 was 2% higher than in the previous quarter (ending Q2 2015)
- on a quarterly basis:
- the seasonally adjusted mix-adjusted average price in Q3 2015 was 5% higher than in the previous quarter and 6% higher than the corresponding quarter in 2014
- 1-bedroom flats recorded slightly lower mean prices than in the previous quarter
- 2-, 3- and 4- bedroom houses and 2-bedroom flats, all recorded higher mean prices
- on both a rolling four-quarter and a quarterly basis, the overall mix adjusted index exceeded
the previous peak level for the first time in 7 years - the turnover of properties in Q3 2015 was lower than in the previous quarter but higher than in the corresponding quarter in 2014
- overall housing market activity, on a rolling four-quarter basis, was 2% higher than in the
previous quarter and 12% higher than the corresponding quarter of 2014
