The UK Ambassador for the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Sungnam Lim, will visit Jersey on 21 and 22 July 2015.
On the afternoon of 21 July, Mr Lim will join the Minister for External Relations, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, in signing a tax information exchange agreement between Jersey and the Republic of Korea.
During his visit, the Ambassador will also meet the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Lieutenant Governor, General Sir John McColl. On the evening of 21 July, he will be the guest of honour at a dinner hosted by the Bailiff, William Bailhache.
Senator Bailhache commented “I look forward to meeting His Excellency Mr Lim and to signing the tax information exchange agreement between our two governments. Completing this agreement with the Republic of Korea, a G20 member, is further evidence of Jersey’s commitment to lead the way in the global implementation of international standards of transparency and information exchange for tax purposes.”
On 22 July, the Ambassador will make a site visit to Bellozanne to view the sewage treatment facility that is being constructed by the Korean company Doosan Enpure. He will also attend meetings at Digital Jersey, with Assistant Chief Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf, and at the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
