In response to concerns over availability, particularly by senior citizens requiring seating, seats for the Liberation Square re-enactment ceremony on Saturday 9 May will now be ticketed.
As with the afternoon ceremonial events in People’s Park, the re-enactment remains open to everyone, with plenty of standing room to spectate. However, seating in Liberation Square will now be ticketed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Liberation Square: free ticketing
Tickets to Liberation Square are free and are available from all parish halls; they will be required to guarantee seating at the re-enactment ceremony. Seats must be taken by 10.45am for the re-enactment, which starts at 11am.
There will also be plenty of standing room in Liberation Square for the ceremony, for which no ticketing or pre-arrangement is required.
People's Park: free ticketing
Separate tickets are now available for those who would like to be seated at the ceremony in People’s Park to be held on the afternoon of 9 May in the presence of HRH The Countess of Wessex.
People's Park tickets can be collected from either the Bailiff’s Chambers or Jersey Tourism. There will also be plenty of standing room in People’s Park, for which no ticketing or pre-arrangement is required.
Transport
Shuttle buses will be available between Liberation Square and People’s Park for anyone who requires transport between the two venues. The buses will start at 11.30am, once the re-enactment ceremony has ended, and will continue until 2.30pm.
Celebrations in People’s Park will start at 3pm with the arrival of HRH The Countess of Wessex.
There will be marshals available at both venues to assist the public and help provide information on the day.
