Providence Street, near the Jersey Arts Centre, will close to motorists from next week until the end of January for drainage works.
Transport and Technical Services (TTS) is working on the next phase of the extension of the surface water sewer.
From Monday 23 November until Friday 29 January, no vehicles will be allowed through Providence Street, although it will remain open to pedestrians. TTS is closing the road to ensure the safety of workers and road users.
The drainage project includes the diversion of the town brook around the outside of the temporary car park and the extension of storm water sewers from the junction of Providence Street and Philips Street to the junction of Ann Street, Brooklyn Street and Charles Street.
This work is being carried out prior to the development of the former Ann Court site for affordable housing and a public carpark for shoppers.
