New upgraded skateboard equipment is now ready for use in the Millennium Town Park.
Skateboarders were invited to give their opinions on the layout of the new kit which was then installed by Transport and Technical Services.
The new area follows a trial in 2014 led by the Jersey Youth Service. This provided temporary skateboarding equipment in the ball court area of the park to see if it would prove popular with the local skateboarding community. A more extensive range of new equipment was purchased with the support of the Parish of St Helier, via the Youth Service, and has now been permanently installed in the park’s ball court area.
Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Deputy Eddie Noel, said "I am pleased that this facility is now up and ready and I’d like to thank the Parish of St Helier, the Youth Service, Freedom Church and the States of Jersey Police for their support in making this happen."
Skateboarding is not allowed on the Bath Street entrance steps to the park, it is only allowed in the ball court area.
