The Town Skateboard Park has been reopened following repair work. Transport and Technical Services (TTS) temporarily closed the skateboard amenity in the Millennium Town Park earlier this week following vandalism but have worked quickly to ensure it would open in time for the weekend.
Since it was opened last month the new upgraded facility has been well used, but unfortunately damage was caused by vandalism to the equipment, in particular a guard rail, earlier this week. Repairs were carried out as soon as possible and it is was reopened this morning.
Witness appeal
Anyone who witnessed the vandalism which took place on Easter Monday at about 2.30pm, or can provide any information is asked to contact the Police.
Assistant Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Deputy Richard Rondel said “It is regrettable that this has happened, especially during the Easter school holidays. But I'm pleased that we were complete repairs swiftly so that facility was out of action for the shortest possible time."
