The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has refurbished the play area in Howard Davis Park, it now includes a number of new features.
The new larger play area has 13 different features with a multi-play unit (Toddler zone Sneak and Peak unit) as a centrepiece for group play. The equipment is designed for children between the ages of two and six (not all the equipment is suitable for two year olds) and now includes a set of swings, rockers, a roundabout, seesaw, cradle swing and trampoline.
The previous play area was installed in 1994 and, after more than 20 years, was in much need of replacement and upgrade.
As well as being fun for children, all equipment complies with European safety standards and the entire play area is covered with safety surfacing. The cost of the project was approximately £120,000.
