16 August 2017
This year’s A-level results will be released tomorrow (17 August 2017). These results will determine university places for the majority of Jersey sixth formers. Schools, Highlands College, Advance to Work and Careers Jersey will be available on the day to help students, if required.
Once students have a definite offer of a place at university and they have applied for a student grant, they should complete the online HE7 form (the link will have been sent directly to the students after initial application). If they don’t have this link, students will need to email the Student Finance Office and they will be re-sent the link to the email address provided. Copies of their A-level or BTEC results and a copy of the offer letter from the institute will need to be provided to the Student Finance Office. This is a very busy time for the Student Finance Office, as they assess and process all new and existing students (across all year groups), so callers should be prepared to leave a voice message.
Careers Jersey is open from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, for anyone needing individual guidance on their next steps. This may apply to those who are looking for alternative courses and university places, taking an unexpected gap year or considering employment instead of further education. Careers Jersey is situated at Philip Le Feuvre House, La Motte Street (entrance via the Department of Social Security), and can be contacted on 449440.
Careers Jersey is also available to help students who have problems with their choices after GCSE results. These are released on 24 August 2017.
Anyone wishing to book an appointment can call 449440 or email careers@gov.je
