The House Price Index report for the second quarter of 2017 has been published by the Statistics Unit.
In the second quarter of 2017:
- on a rolling four-quarter basis, the mix-adjusted average price of dwellings sold in Jersey during the year ending Q2 2017 was essentially unchanged when compared with the year ending Q1 2017
- on a quarterly basis:
- the seasonally adjusted mix-adjusted average price in Q2 2017 was 2% higher than in the previous quarter and 2% higher than the corresponding quarter in 2016 (Q2 2016)
- most individual property types recorded higher mean property prices in Q2 2017 compared with Q1 2017, with only 4-bedroom houses recording a marginal decrease in mean price
- the turnover of properties was higher than the previous quarter and the highest recorded quarterly figure since 2006
- overall housing market activity, on a rolling four-quarter basis, was 7% higher than in the previous quarter
- on a rolling four-quarter basis, rental prices in Jersey were 1% higher during the year ending Q2 2017 when compared with the year ending Q1 2017
