The House Price Index report for the third quarter of 2017 has been published by the Statistics Unit
In the third quarter of 2017:
- on a rolling four-quarter basis, the mix-adjusted average price of dwellings sold in Jersey during the year ending Q3 2017 was 1% higher when compared with the year ending Q2 2017
- on a quarterly basis:
- the seasonally adjusted mix-adjusted average price in Q3 2017 was 1% higher than in the previous quarter and 2% higher than the corresponding quarter in 2016 (Q3 2016)
- most individual property types recorded higher mean property prices in Q3 2017 compared with Q2 2017, with 1-bedroom flats and 2-bedroom houses recording marginal decreases in mean prices
- the turnover of properties was lower than both the previous quarter and the corresponding quarter of 2016
- overall housing market activity, on a rolling four-quarter basis, was 1% lower than in the previous quarter
- on a rolling four-quarter basis, rental prices in Jersey was essentially unchanged during the year ending Q3 2017 when compared with the year ending Q2 2017
