The Department for Infrastructure will host an international conference on sea lettuce management in association with Ricardo Energy and Environment on 5 and 6 October 2017 at the Grand Hotel.
Speakers will be coming from all over the world to discuss managing sea lettuce in coastal environments.
The aim is to hear from people of varied backgrounds about the challenges that sea lettuce has given them and to share any learning regarding the various techniques they have adopted.
The final session of the conference will be open to the public. Anyone interested in attending the public session at 2pm on 6 October 2017 can apply for free tickets through Eventbrite.

Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Eddie Noel, said “I think most people now understand that sea lettuce collecting on our beaches is not just a local problem. This is a great learning opportunity for us, not just at the conference but by making contacts that we can keep in touch with going forward. Hopefully we will get some insight that will help us work towards feasible solutions.”
