The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) will be carrying out road surface improvement works on two roads in St Brelade from Monday 21 May for one week.
Preparation works on La Rue de La Sergente and Le Mont de La Pulente will be undertaken on the first day, Monday 21 May, with stop and go boards in operation.
The roads will then be closed to through traffic from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 May from 8.30am to 10.30pm while the work is being undertaken. A signed diversion route will be in place and access to premises will be maintained, with the exception of when the final surface is being laid past vehicle entrances.
The number 22 bus service along La Grande Route des Mielles will be replaced by a shuttle bus during the road closures from 8.30am until 7pm. Contact Liberty Bus for more information.

There will also be minor isolated traffic management along La Route de Sergente and Le Mont de La Pulente to allow the contractor to carry out the necessary adjustments to manhole covers that will be ongoing until 8 June.
As part of its ongoing programme of road maintenance, DfI will be applying GripFibre Micro-Asphalt to the old surface of La Rue de La Sergente and Le Mont de La Pulente.
GripFibre is a preventative road surface maintenance system that has been used in the Island since 2015 and is a tried and tested form of road maintenance in the UK and Europe.
The surface has a lifespan of over 10 years and is approximately half to one third the cost of traditional resurfacing. Therefore using this system enables DfI to maintain more areas of road within its limited budget, which is of great benefit to the Island. It is not a replacement for traditional resurfacing, it is designed to extend the life of the road surface for a further 10 years.
Laying of the GripFibre involves the application of two thin layers of fluid, stones and fibres over the existing surface; each layer takes approximately 30 minutes to harden. This provides an effective waterproofing layer that will raise the road surface level by approximately 15mm. This process is much quicker than the laying of asphalt. Even though the process is a speedy operation, it is weather dependent. The new surface may initially appear different and uneven; however, it will become more uniform after a few weeks.
For a few weeks after the GripFibre is laid the road surface will be regularly swept, as loose stones may be shaken free as vehicles travel over the surface.
