The deadline for completion of resurfacing work on Gorey Coast Road has overrun due to bad weather at the start of the project and additional work being required to improve the strength of the road.
Growth, Housing and Environment has apologised for the delay to the project which was expected to be competed last week.
The resurfacing project is now due to be completed by Tuesday, 2 April. Residents have been notified of the changes and the department has responded to concerns from businesses by increasing the number of signs and social media communications.
Project Engineer Barry Nolan said: “We’d like to thank the residents and businesses for their patience whilst this work is being finished and thank them for their feedback which will help us to better implement preliminary road signage in the future.”
Diversions remain in place and are required to ensure the work can be undertaken safely and also to avoid congestion through minor roads in Gorey Village.
Islanders will be able to see regular updates on gov.je and via the Government’s social media pages.
