The Minister for External Relations, Senator Ian Gorst, has presented the Government’s bi-annual Brexit Update Report to the States Assembly during this week's sitting.
The Report informs States Members and the public about the work that is being undertaken to prepare Government, residents and businesses for the UK’s future relationship with the EU, and to ensure the Island is ready for all possible outcomes to the ongoing UK-EU negotiations.
Senator Gorst said: “Since our last report in December 2019, preparations and negotiations for the UK’s future relationship with the EU – and Jersey’s place within this – have continued. This report outlines the substantial work that has taken place across Government to support Jersey’s readiness for a range of possible outcomes.
“I am proud of the work that has been accomplished and I want personally to thank my Ministerial colleagues and officials from across the Government of Jersey, and especially those in the Brexit Unit (now the International Trade Unit) for their ongoing diligence and commitment to the Island’s preparations for our future trading relationships.”
