Health and Community Services are postponing all non-urgent outpatient appointments, operations and procedures for all patients – both under and over 65s – with immediate effect for the next four weeks.
Appointments, operations and procedures that are reviewed and deemed urgent by the clinical teams will continue and staff are currently reviewing every clinic and procedures currently planned to identify who is still required to attend.
Patients who have appointments next week will be contacted by phone.
For some, telephone consultations will be undertaken where feasible.
The Hospital Pharmacy remains open.
Whilst this is regrettable, this decision has been taken to promote social distancing which will help us to manage the spread of COVID infection. This will also allow clinical staff time to prepare for the impact on hospital beds moving forward.
