Three of the sites under consideration for Jersey’s new hospital have been removed from the shortlist following detailed assessments and studies.
St Andrew’s Park, Fields north of Five Oaks and Millbrook playing fields (including farmland to the north) have all been withdrawn.
Overdale and The People’s Park remain on the shortlist and will undergo further technical and financial assessments to determine which will go forward as the preferred site for a States debate in the autumn.
Since the announcement of the shortlist, the five sites have been assessed using criteria formed by working with the Our Hospital Citizens’ Panel, medical professionals and from the feedback from island-wide public consultation. Assessments looked at the clinical suitability, location, environmental, economic and social impact.
Deputy Hugh Raymond, Vice-Chair of the Our Hospital Political Oversight Group, said: “We have consistently followed the evidence-based process put in place and remain on schedule for a States debate in the autumn to agree a location for our new hospital.”
