The Department for Children Young People, Education and Skills has been advised of the following Covid-19 cases in schools and colleges from 15, December 2020
Grouville School
Three students at Grouville School have tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, 15 December 2020.
The students are currently isolating at home, along with the rest of their households, following the public health guidance.
Parents of two year groups were contacted to collect their children from school and to isolate as a precautionary measure, to allow the track and trace process to be completed.
St Lawrence School Nursery
A student at St Lawrence School Nursery has tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, 15 December.
The student is currently isolating at home, along with the rest of their household, following the public health guidance.
Parents were informed and asked to collect their child and asked to isolate at home, as a precautionary measure, to allow the track and trace process to be completed.
Highlands College
A student at Highland’s College has tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday 15 December 2020.
The person is currently isolating at home following the public health guidelines.
As a precaution, a number of students and staff in the group are also isolating and an area in the College is being deep cleaned.
All affected students, staff and employers have been informed and students will be able to access online learning material while they isolate.
Haute Valleé School
A student at Haute Valleé School tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, 15 December 2020.
Parents have been informed and online learning will be made available for students so that they can continue with their education.
A year group at Haute Valleé school will be asked to continue to work from home from Wednesday 16 December, due to a shortage of staff.
Le Rocquier School
A year group at Le Rocquier School returned to school today, Tuesday 15 December, after a period in self-isolation.
Another year group at Le Rocquier School will continue to learn from home on Wednesday, 16 December 2020 due to a shortage of staff.
Parents have been contacted and informed and it is expected that they can return on 17 and 18 December 2020.
The year group will remain open for children of essential workers and vulnerable children.
Students have been provided with online learning and some lessons will continue via video link.
Background
In cases above where “further action” is required, the schools contact parents and the class bubbles to ask that they isolate at home, as a precautionary measure, to allow the track and trace process to be completed.
In cases where “no action” is required it means that the student or staff member has not attended school for a number of days and as a result no further action will be taken by the contact tracing team and students can remain in school.
All schools and colleges will remain open following advice from Environmental and Public Health.
We are committed to supporting our students who have been impacted by the pandemic. Students who have to be at home due to Public Health guidelines will continue to receive schoolwork online so that they can continue with their education.
