The States Employment Board warmly
welcomes today’s decision by the civil service unions to suspend their
work-to-rule which has been in place since 2019 as a result of a dispute over
pay.
Richard Buchanan, the Board’s
vice-chair, said: “This is a welcome decision by our civil service unions at a
critical time when we all need to be pulling together to protect the health of
islanders and Government employees, and to provide key services to the people
of Jersey.
"The Board acknowledges the efforts of all unions and the
commitment and professionalism of our staff who are working long hours
and in many cases into the weekend to mitigate the potential impact of
coronavirus.”
