Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (JFRS) has again joined forces with Jersey Electricity to offer their free annual electric blanket testing service to all Islanders.
The event will be held at the JFRS’ Western Station on Wednesday 14 – Thursday 15 October, between 9am – 3pm.
Islanders are asked to attend the station wearing a mask and observe social distancing where possible.
Last year’s event saw 159 blankets brought in for testing, with 31 of these not passing the testing measures.
Crew Commander, John Lloyd said: "I would really encourage anyone who owns an electric blanket to bring it up and have it looked over by us, to make sure they are suitable and safe to be used.
"A large part of our role in JFRS is to educate Islanders with safety and prevention advice, and this is a great opportunity for the public to make the most of that."
