A campaign has been launched today to recruit a new principal for Highlands College and University College Jersey (UCJ), following the retirement last year of the previous principal.
Highlands College and UCJ delivers a diverse provision, with more than 5,000 enrolments each year on a range of vocational and technical courses. The college runs further and higher education courses, apprenticeship provision and personal and professional development programmes.
The Chair of Highlands College Board of Governors, Paul Masterton, said: “We are proud of Highlands College and the team of more than 200 full-time and 150 part-time talented and dedicated staff who deliver high-quality education, training and support to those who choose to further their skills and education at the college.
“Highlands College plays a key role in the post-16 education for Jersey and we are seeking an experienced senior leader, with clear strategic vision and a very strong track record of student achievement and success to lead the college to its next level of success. The college engages in partnership and collaboration with other educational institutions, the business community and third-sector organisations and contributes strongly to the Government of Jersey’s aspiration to create a vibrant and skilled workforce for the future.
“As the sole provider of technical and vocational education in the Island, Highlands College has a vital role in developing the skills and talent for the future economy of Jersey.”
