Islanders are invited to attend free drop-in sessions to learn about how to file their tax return online.
The Government is running a series of drop-in sessions, at various locations across the Island throughout March and April, to introduce customers to the Government’s customer services portal one.gov.je. Specialists from Revenue Jersey will be available at the events for customers to:
- find out about the one.gov.je portal and services
- learn how to activate their one.gov.je account and the benefits
- be supported through the digital ID set-up process and understand why it’s needed
- be assured about security of their data
- be shown a demonstration of the online tax form
Comptroller of Revenue, Richard Summersgill, said: “These sessions primarily aim to support Islanders who wish to file their taxes online. However, customers will also be informed about the other 120 online government services available on one.gov.je.
“The online tax form is the first service available online that almost all Islanders may wish to use every year. We hope the sessions will increase Islanders’ confidence when accessing online services, which are more efficient and easier to use than paper forms.”
Islanders wishing to activate their onegov account, set up their digital ID and use the online tax return form at the events, will need to bring their smartphone and passport.
Revenue Jersey launched the online tax return form in January and has already received more than 2,500 forms from customers who chose to return online. The benefits of filing online include:
- automatic elimination of irrelevant sections
- guidance throughout
- option to pause, save and return to later
- instant confirmation of receipt
- longer deadline
