A Jersey charity has won the contract to prepare meals for five Island secondary schools.
Following a rigorous tendering and evaluation process, Caring Cooks has been awarded the contract. The contract for the secondary school meal service at Haute Vallée, Grainville, Les Quennevais, Hautlieu and Victoria College, is initially for three years with a possible two-year extension, dependant on delivery and performance management.
The contract was put out for tender after the contract with Capsicum Catering, which had provided the service for the past ten years, ended. The Government of Jersey received four expressions of interest to take over the meal service and two submitted tender returns.
Under the contract Caring Cooks will provide a full meals service – in-line with Government standards for nutritious school meals - for breakfast, break-time snacks and lunch.
