Organisations urged to share their climate change views

05 March 2021

St Ouen beach
The Government is reminding organisations to share their views on how the Island should tackle climate change and become carbon neutral.

Businesses, parishes, charities and organisations have until Monday 15 March to submit their thoughts in writing to climateemergency@gov.je

All submissions should:
  • Be written in plain English and not exceed 1500 words
  • Submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format and addressed to the Citizens’ Assembly on Climate Change
  • Include the business or organisation name and provide contact details
  • Include the subject line ‘Submission to the Climate Assembly’
  • Include a reference at the top of the submission on the key subject area

All written submissions, alongside ideas shared by the public throughout Jersey’s Climate conversation, will contribute to the content presented to the Citizens’ Assembly, a panel of 45 randomly selected Islanders who will meet to develop recommendations, which they will submit in a report to the States Assembly.

The submissions will also be made available to the public to review on the Climate Conversation website. However, individual names and contact details will not be disclosed.

Organisations, businesses, charities and parishes have been contacted and urged to share their views on potential climate change policies, and how these policies could affect them and their members.

Their wide range of views will be shared with the Citizens Assembly - and States Members who will be deliberating on climate change before the carbon neutral roadmap is developed ahead of wider public consultation.
