The Government's HR leadership team has won a national award for its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team was named joint winner, for the Best Crisis Management Strategy at the HR Excellence Awards in London last week
The Government's strategy during the pandemic was to redeploy its HR leadership team into supporting roles throughout the organisation so they could drive a people-focused response. The judges at the awards described this approach as "a masterclass in crisis management."
Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré, said: "The work behind the scenes across Government was intensive but very successful in meeting the objectives set out by the States Assembly and the Competent Authorities. For example, I saw first-hand how much had to be done to reconfigure the organisation to work from home. We also had to redeploy people to the COVID-19 response while maintaining critical services.
"This national recognition, against tough competition, is a credit to the teams who worked tirelessly to reorganise services. We are very proud of them, and their commitment to the Island."
Group Director for People and Corporate Services, Mark Grimley, said: "Every team across the public service worked incredibly hard to deliver our response to the pandemic and maintain many of the Island's critical services.
"The People and Corporate Services team hunkered down to support the response and it's great to be recognised nationally for our work. I'm so proud of our people and how they rose to the challenge."
