The Joint Committee for Vaccinations and Immunisation (JCVI) have announced their recommendations for the phase 2 roll out of the COVID-19 vaccine. Head of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, Becky Sherrington said:
“Today the JCVI have provided their interim recommendations for phase two for vaccination programmes, which covers the roll out for vaccinating people under 50 years old.
“From the start of our vaccination programme for Jersey, we have been guided by the JCVI, and we have adopted their evidence-based recommendations to ensure our programme is following the latest expert scientific advice.
“We will be reviewing the new set of JCVI recommendations to help inform the next stage of the vaccine roll out for Jersey.
“The policy will be presented to STAC and Competent Authority Ministers in the coming weeks, who will review the advice and make a decision on the second phase of the vaccine programme for Jersey.
“In the meantime, our focus is vaccinating all Islanders over the age of 50 years old, clinically extremely vulnerable and clinically at-risk Islanders with their first and second doses of the vaccine.”
