The Government of Jersey has responded to the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (C&AG) Thinkpiece on Public Audit in Jersey.
The Government welcomes the report, which draws on the C&AG’s first year in office and a public consultation held last year. In the report, amongst other things the C&AG calls for a consistent framework for the production of annual reports and accounts for States-established and States-controlled entities, and legislation to define these bodies.
Responding to the report, the Minister for Treasury and Resources, Deputy Susie Pinel, said: “I’d like to thank the C&AG for her paper and we welcome her contribution in the important areas of audit and reporting by States established and States controlled entities.”
The Government will now consider the report and its recommendations and will respond fully in due course.
