As at Sunday 13 June, 75% of all Islanders aged over 18-years old had received one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine with 59% of Islanders aged over 18-years old now fully vaccinated.
Key statistics:
- 85% of Islanders over 30-years old have had one dose
- 41% of 25-29 year olds have had one dose
- 83% of clinically extremely vulnerable aged 16-69 years old are fully vaccinated
- 116, 607 total doses administered
Head of the Vaccination Programme, Becky Sherrington, said: "It is great to see that four out of every five Islanders aged over 30-years old have now received at least one dose of the vaccine. This is a fantastic statistic, so I encourage the younger groups to keep up this momentum.
"On Monday we opened the Vaccination Centre to all adults, and it has been fantastic to see many young Islanders aged over 18-years old attending for their vaccine appointments. I'd like to thank those Islanders and ask them to encourage their friends and family to book their appointments too, so that the Island can benefit from the protection that these vaccines provide.
"I'd also like to remind Islanders that they are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask at the Vaccination Centre and will be reminded by marshals when they attend their appointments."
This week, a Ministerial Decision was made by the Minister for Health and Social Services to allow any volunteers of the approved Covid-19 vaccine trial in the UK, to be part of the Covid Certification Status scheme.
Those who volunteered for the trials will need to provide an official letter from the chief investigator or local principal investigator of the trial, confirming their participation and that they have the same 'protected' status as someone who receives Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency approved vaccines (Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Moderna).
Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Richard Renouf, said: "This update to Covid Certification Status eligibility ensures that those volunteers of UK approved vaccine trials are not disadvantaged by the vaccine that was administered to them as they have been confirmed as fully vaccinated.
"It is fantastic to see the figures rising in vaccination statistics for the younger Islanders which helps to protect not only them but our whole community."
Other requirements to be part of the Covid Certification Status scheme remain unchanged, so two doses must be administered in the Common Travel Area and administered within at least two weeks prior to arrival in Jersey.
Islanders can book by calling the COVID helpline on 0800 735 5566 or online on the COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments page.
