The delivery model for COVID-19 vaccination will transfer from Public Health to Primary Care in the new year. This follows a recent decision made during the States Assembly debate of the Government Plan 2024 to 2027.
COVID-19 vaccination services will continue to be made available to Islanders through rock-up clinics. Public Health is working closely with Primary Care on the details of the future service and will keep Islanders updated on how and where vaccination is available during the transition period.
The move of the vaccination centre from Fort Regent will make way for alternative uses of the Queen's Hall as part of plans to improve the Fort for Islanders.
Professor Peter Bradley, Director of Public Health, said: “Moving the delivery of COVID-19 vaccination into Primary Care signifies how far we have come since the first vaccines were delivered in Jersey. Colleagues at the vaccination centre played an important part in the Island's response to COVID-19 and have delivered over 289,000 vaccinations. We are incredibly grateful for all their good work and dedication to keeping Islanders safe during the pandemic.
“Public Health will be working together with Primary Care to transfer the service and ensure that Islanders continue to have access to the best protection against serious illness from COVID-19."
Islanders eligible for vaccination, especially those at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19, are encouraged to make getting their vaccination a priority.
The vaccination centre is open between Christmas and New Year at the following times:
- Between 10:30am-5:30pm on Wednesday 27 December & Thursday 28 December
- Between 10:30am-2:30pm on Friday 29 December
- Closed on Saturday 30 December
Details of upcoming rock-up clinics will be available soon.
