Jersey Customs and Immigration Service have seized 600 grams of chocolates laced with Psilocin and Psilocybin, both 'Class A' hallucinogenic controlled drugs.
The chocolates were contained in what appeared to be 'off the shelf' brightly coloured commercial packaging labelled 'Magic Dinosaurs'. They contained 50 grams of chocolate in each. The packaging makes no reference to a dangerous controlled drug and could have been mistaken for genuine sweets or chocolates.
Customs Senior Manager Luke Goddard said: "This is the first seizure of this type we have made. It raises real concerns that they could be consumed by someone believing them to be normal sweets, unaware they contain a dangerous hallucinogenic. More concerning is that the brightly coloured packaging and the chocolates themselves being in the shape of dinosaurs will be particularly attractive to children."
Anyone in possession of this product or anything similar are urged to hand them into the authorities.
