Haute Vallée School has been reviewed as part of the Jersey Schools Review Framework. The full
report is available here.
The review was led by an experienced off-Island reviewer and consisted of a total of eight
reviewers who visited the school over three days in October.
During the review, the team spoke to pupils and early-career teachers, observed lessons across all
year groups, toured the school facilities, and discussed school evaluations and plans with leaders.
The views of parents and staff were considered through surveys, which were also available in
different languages for parents.
Headteacher of Haute Vallée School, Stuart Hughes, said: “I am immensely proud that this review
highlights the deep-rooted culture of learning and care shown by pupils and staff across the
school.
“The team conducted a thorough and professional review, which recognises the incredible
transformation that has taken place here and I am grateful for their considered recommendations.
“I’d also like to thank every single staff member for their tireless commitment to the school’s
continued evolution.”
The Jersey Schools Review Framework was piloted across government schools from 2016 to 2019.
After a pause during COVID, review visits have restarted and will continue throughout the
2023/2024 academic year.
Reviews take place every three years and consider the environment in the school, the standards of
learning, teaching and achievement, the behaviour and personal development of pupils, and the
effectiveness of school leadership.
