Jersey College Preparatory School has been reviewed as part of the Jersey Schools Review Framework. The full report is available here.
The review was led by an experienced off-Island consultant and consisted of a total of four reviewers who visited the school over three days in November.
During the review, the team observed lessons, scrutinised pupils' work across a variety of subjects, held discussions with senior leaders, and examined a range of school policies, including safeguarding, child protection and pupil welfare. The responses to the staff and parental surveys were also considered.
Headteacher of Jersey College Preparatory School, Catherine Precious, said: "I am pleased that this review has emphasised the consistently high outcomes of our pupils, and their exemplary conduct and behaviour.
"I'd like to thank every staff member and the senior leadership team for their shared ambition, support and dedication to the school's continued evolution. The school review was rigorously and professionally carried out and I am grateful to the team for their considered recommendations. I look forward to building on our current progress."
The Jersey Schools Review Framework was piloted across Government schools from 2016 – 2019. After a pause during COVID, review visits have restarted and will continue throughout the 2023 – 2024 academic year.
Reviews take place every three years and consider the environment in the school, the standards of learning, teaching and achievement, the behaviour and personal development of pupils, and the effectiveness of school leadership.
