Charles Street Car Park charging hours reduced

25 November 2024

From Tuesday 26 November, the charging period at Charles Street Car Park will be reduced.

The new hours will be 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, reduced from the current 8am to 10pm schedule.

This decision follows feedback from Islanders and businesses during a trial period, and aims to make it easier for car park users to enjoy evening activities such as dining, shows, or late-night shopping.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Constable Andy Jehan, said: “Since opening Charles Street Car Park in October, we have listened to local businesses, residents, and car park users to gain valuable feedback on the chargeable hours. Following this, from tomorrow the hours for which parking is charged will be reduced in an aim to make it easier for those wishing to use the car park, particularly in the evenings where Islanders are coming into Town to watch a show or make the most of the Christmas late night shopping.”
